AIG Life expands Smart Health umbrella

AIG Life has improved its wellbeing services to give employees and their families even more health, wellbeing and lifestyle support under one Smart Health roof.

The UK life insurer has upgraded its health and wellbeing service for employees whose employer has a group income protection scheme, to bring physical health, mental wellbeing, financial support and legal information together.

Alongside the six integrated wellbeing services they already have access to when they log onto the Smart Health app, group income protection members and families now also get:

  • Access to myStrength app – interactive self-support wellbeing content plus chat service that helps people to be at their best; from tailored on-demand activities to a personal guide
  • Mental health support from a qualified professional through a 24/7 helpline, whether that’s in the moment help with anxiety or onward referral to other services
  • Signposting to legal and financial support.

These, alongside all of Smart Health’s six integrated wellbeing services, will also be available to non-insured employees of group income protection clients for the first time.

Group life members and their families now also have access to bereavement support and a probate helpline through their single Smart Health login.

Chris Morgan, head of group protection distribution at AIG Life, said: “We’ve made the change because mental health is at the top of the employees’ – and employers’ – agenda, and we’ve seen from customer and patient feedback that Smart Health really can help people stay happy and healthy.

“Giving employees and their families access to integrated, expert support and guidance through a single app login makes it’s even easier for employers and employees to understand the benefits that come with group income protection insurance and group life. Long-term, that should be good for people’s wellbeing and for the productivity of businesses.”
