Berkeley Alexander introduces PI panel

General insurance provider Berkeley Alexander has launched a new Professional Indemnity (PI) panel of insurers for intermediaries.

This is the first time Berkeley Alexander has introduced a panel for PI, complementing its existing panels in a range of personal and commercial insurance.

The new PI panel includes AIG, Allianz, Arch, AXA, Markel, Hiscox and RSA.

Each insurer has a different PI risk appetite and specialism, meaning that Berkeley Alexander can cover a broad range of policy options and professions and can present the risk to the most appropriate insurers for a tailored service.

In addition, unusual or high-risk cases that don’t suit the appetite of any of the insurers on the panel can also be serviced through Berkeley Alexander’s network with Towergate.

Geoff Hall, chairman of Berkeley Alexander, said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer our intermediary partners such a wide range of options for professional indemnity cover. The current market environment has put increasing pressure on coverage terms and rates across the board and for a number of professions.

“We have always offered PI as part of our commercial insurances, but with this new panel we are confident that we can meet the needs of a wide variety of professionals for our intermediary partners.”
